Medical centers all around Europe have been combining SkinTyte and BBL from Sciton, to be able to obtain quick, quite often immediate success if addressing dermis laxity. The IPL light of BBL also works on skin discoloration, lesions, and long-lasting hair reduction.

“When tightening the skin it is easy to view effects after only one session,” affirmed Charry Chavelas, M.D., a dermatologist-venereologist from Ioannina, Greece. “For many patients, one session is enough. The results get better with time, reaching a maximum effect five to six months after the first and foremost session.”

“We prefer the infrared solution of SkinTyte more than former technologies employed for dermal tightening,” says Fernando Urdiales, M.D. “Erythema manifesting post procedure goes away after two or three hours, leaving behind just the immediate positive effects.”

Sciton deeply heats up collagen while at the same time continually guarding the dermis utilizing direct contact chilling for the highest protection and relaxation, without any requirement of a topical pain-killer.

The energy is presented in high-speed, pulses to promote contraction and coagulation of the collagen, commencing the body’s restorative process.

Following the procedure, a brand new foundation of collagen is put together, triggering increased dermal firmness. SkinTyte’s huge 15 mm x 45 mm footprint and rapid replication rate permit to get a quick procedure.

“We can treat a face and neck in 20 minutes,” said Dr. Urdiales, who moves the handpiece to capitalize on coverage area while maintaining consistent temperatures. “We have the ability to hold temperature ranges at 40º to 42º across the treatment area, ensuring 55º to 58º in the deep tissue – necessary for collagen remodeling – without creating any risk.”

Dr. Urdiales likes a range of 40 J/cm2 to 47 J/cm2, with five second pulses. “I make five to seven passes,” he said. “These adjustments can be utilized for the face and neck. Even less passes may be needed about the neck.”

Dr. Chavelas opts for 50 J/cm2 to 60 J/cm2 fluences, a six to seven second pulse width and cooling at 14º C for type III epidermis. “For lighter epidermis types, you’ll be able to apply a higher fluence or pulse width and the reverse for deeper epidermis types,” he said.

The BBL, a comprehensive and extremely versatile light system, qualities duallamp engineering, Filters, Adapters and cooling. This unit comes as a section of Sciton’s JOULE system, with an elective SkinTyte module, or as a stand-alone unit. Dr. Chavelas utilizes BBL by itself for vascular lesions, hair removal, melasma and keloid scars.

Dr. Chavelas likewise relies on Sciton’s BBL in combination with the SkinTyte to address striae or keloids (by adding intralesional injections of cortisone). “I can combine different wavelengths, like the 590 nm and SkinTyte filters, in one session to achieve optimal results when treating striae,” said Dr. Chavelas. “For difficult problems, BBL is effectual after only a few sessions.”

Dr. Urdiales also functions with BBL in some difficult depilation people, “when the hair is thin and clear, at the end of treatments and lasers don’t work.”

Though countries away, Dr. Urdiales and Dr. Chavelas take a position together when talking about the positive aspects of the BBL and SkinTyte. “Both permit very comfortable and good treatments for patients,” said Dr. Chavelas. “Since acquiring these technologies, We’ve had a great many compliments coming from my patients.”
